With the upcoming Opening in the Philippines by Swedish Furniture retailer IKEA it will give a chance to the Filipino Professionals to work with the international brand store, including Architects, Interior Designers, Interior Model Designers, Draftsmans, Skilled Professionals, Carpenters, and even Machine Operators; and since IKEA stores have its own food stores and restaurants, it will also give chance of employment to the Filipino cooks, kitchen crews, waiters and other skilled maintenance field.
IKEA is very popular in the whole world with its unique store set up combining with its furniture designs, household materials and its restaurant services to the customers. All designs of its warehouse stores are similar around the world.
IKEA said it is firming up plans to enter the Philippine market which has a growing middle class sector. IKEA Southeast Asia sustainability and communication director Lars Svensson during the forum in Makati City Wednesday January 17, 2018 said that the Swedish retailer was finalizing a few details before it could publicly announce the definite plan for the Philippines. "We will come here, We have representatives sitting here".
Lars Sevenson did not name its Filipino partner for the expansion, although there were reports it was tying up with the SM Group. "When it is confirmed then it will be announced. We never say anything unless it has been confirmed, otherwise it will only lead to more controversies. We are ensuring that when we go out, it is a fact and something that will have a strong impact" Lars said.
A local retailer said that the Philippine would be a part of second wave of expansion of IKEA Swedish brand.
